Description:
Human Eye Model Simulation:
Creating a virtual simulation of the human eye can be a fun and educational way to help students understand the anatomy and function of this complex sensory organ. Here’s how you can describe it:
- External Anatomy: Start with an interactive 3D model of the eye, showing the external structures like the cornea, iris, and sclera. Allow students to click on these structures to learn about their roles.
- Light Entering the Eye: Explain how light enters the eye through the cornea and how the iris adjusts to control the amount of light. Create a slider or interactive feature where students can control the amount of incoming light to see its effect on the pupil size.
- Lens and Focusing: Introduce the lens inside the eye and show how it changes shape to focus on objects at different distances. Allow students to adjust the shape of the lens to see how it affects focus.
- Retina and Photoreceptors: Move to the back of the eye and zoom in on the retina. Explain the role of photoreceptor cells, namely rods and cones. Let students toggle between viewing the world through rods (black and white) and cones (color) to understand the difference.
- Optic Nerve and Brain: Illustrate how the optic nerve carries visual signals to the brain. Provide interactive visualizations of the brain processing these signals, enabling students to see how the brain interprets what the eye sees.
- Vision Correction: Include an educational component on vision correction. Show how eyeglasses or contact lenses can help focus light onto the retina correctly.
Learning outcome:
Have a better understanding of a Human Eye to elucidate its anatomy and function, elucidating vision and light perception using the model built by the student in this project
